Why not IPv6 yet

Greetings. I have been following this thread with a
lot of interest and compared it to idealized IPv6.
In the ideal world, the IPv6 address is much less
significant then the domain name. The theoretical
user should be able to couple and decouple their host
name to any given number of providers with trivial
effort. Hopefully that is what the IPv6 space will
evolve to. Then no one will really care if they
own their own space or not.
