No, I agree, not pretty at all. Hmm, perhaps something that detects bad 
dns servers and disables them for those requests would be a bit less 
ugly. But then again I don't think it is worth too much trouble trying 
to workaround a few broken NAT devices.

Remi's proposal is much simpler to implement and I cannot think of 
anything that might break.
