Most importantly, hopefully they can provide a documentation trail as to
exactly what had happened.

I've found many ways to break connectivity by fiddling, taking servers
off-line, changing DNS records, etc...

A traceback from such an organization would be fantastic if it would
help others prevent such a situation.
