No, there have been a number of people who have specifically requested
that Neustar (the folks who manage the IETF servers) enable ICMPv6 for
their servers so that network connectivity problems could be checked up
on as there where previously issues, which now have been resolved, and
as ICMPv6 was being filtered there was no easy way to figure out where
it was going wrong.
If you have a certain requirement for having IETF servers act
differently, don't hesitate to contact them as specified on the IETF
Secretariat pages: http://www.ietf.org/secretariat.html
Just in case you think those are too many addresses, the address to mail
to is ietf-action at ietf.org and yes they solve problems really swiftly
and are very open to suggestions to enhance the experience of all the
users they are serving. With a tech community breathing down their necks
they are, IMHO, doing an excellent job at it.
