I can't really follow you here.  For things to attach to "The Internet",
you need network attachment points (= subnets) - and those are fairly 
obviously limited in number.

Even if you have a million smart dust particles flowing around your
house - how many subnets are you going to allocate to them?

So I see this argument actually emphasizing the "make the host part
of the network LARGE!!" argument - which is what the decision for /64s 
did.
