IPv6 MTUs smaller than 1280 bytes?

Hi,

I'm told that in some scenarios, IPv6 operates over link-layers that do
not provide an MTU gretear than or equal to 1280 bytes (the IPv6
required minimum MTU).

Has anybody seen such a thing?

P.S.: Yes, I'm aware of what RFC 2460 requires.

Thanks,
