HAProxy will happily do layer 4 (TCP) load balancing, doesn't have to be
HTTP traffic.  Performance is excellent, and it supports IPv6 just fine.
 I think you'll have a hard time finding a better open-source solution
than HAProxy for layer 4 load-balancing.
