Presumably because OSPFv3 didn't use to support IPv4 (e.g. Juniper got
their OSPFv3 IPv4 support in JunOS 9.2).

Fortunately our backbone IGP has been IS-IS for many years. OSPFv2 or
OSPFv3 has been a non-question...
