This is totally unacceptable given the number of Windows XP
systems in the world, all of which can run perfectly
fine IPv6 except for DNS resolution.

I am already annoyed that I have to patch my hosts file
to reach Google via IPv6. Let's not extend that problem.

As Jeroen said, you can't fix this problem at the server end.
