This has bitten me as well last week (and annoyed me like hell).  I think
the problem is that kernels for *some* architectures are compiled 
correctly, and the broadcom kernels are compiled with "IPv6 = no", which 
omits proper symbol exporting, so "insmod ipv6" fails.  It is broken
both for 2.4 and for 2.6 kernels... *sigh*

I wanted to open a bug report, but forgot my WRT power supply at the
customer site and couldn't yet properly verify it yet :-) (but if you
open one, let me know and I'll second...)

OpenWRT 7.09 does IPv6 (but you need to edit config files by hand, no 
www gui support yet).

There's a 10.0 release candidate, but I have not tested that one yet.
